Katie and Naveen, Somerset wedding photography

Katie and Naveen were married in Babington House, near Frome in Somerset. They got married at 4.30pm and it was dark when they came out of the chapel which made for very challenging photography. Having said that I think this made the photography all that more interesting with beautiful lighting as it became dusk. Babington House is a truly amazing setting and the day was really memorable.

I was thrilled to find out last week one of my photos from Marianne and Richard’s wedding had been selected in the Wedding Photojournalist Association’s Q3 2010 international competition. I came 19th place in the category ‘great natural light’.

Phil and Emma were married at Marylebone Town Hall in London with the reception held in The Larrik pub nearby. I had photographed Phil’s cousins wedding Ian to Keeley the year before so it was great to see them again. Phil works as a graphic designer and had designed a newspaper for guests to keep to remember the day which was a lovely touch. Below are a selection of my favourite photos.

Emma and David were married at The Fingle Bridge Inn in Drewsteington. It was a very emotional day for me as Emma is my wife’s best friend. So I have known them and many of the guests for about 5 years. Also the registrar that married them married Lucy and I just two months earlier. It was a great day we all enjoyed. I have added a photo of Lucy and me taken by Tom, Lucy’s brother.

Tehira and Paul were married at The Monkey Island Hotel in Bray. Tehira was really hoping to get married outside in the gardens. However the weather had other ideas and fortunately they decided to tie the knot inside because shortly after the ceremony the heavens opened and it poured with rain for the whole afternoon. Danni and Simon were married at The Walled Garden at Cowdray in Midhurst. I had never been here before but it was a fantastic place. The gardens were beautiful and full of flowers and colour.

Lucy and Sam, Hertfordshire wedding photography

Lucy and Sam were married at Tewinbury Farm in Hertfordshire. It was great to photograph their wedding because I had photographed Lucy’s sisters wedding the year before so I was greeted with warmth and smiles on arrival which always makes things easier.

It was a fantastic day and a real treat for guests as they were married outside and the weather was glorious. Below are my favourites.
